At Road to Recovery our mission is to provide innovative therapies and treatments to allow each patient to manage physical and emotional pain and detoxify from substance use. Our goal is to help every patient recover and enjoy a healthy, happy life.
We provide medical support for out-patient detoxification.
We work hand-in-hand with our patients to provide ongoing medical and behavioral health support for lifelong recovery. At each Road to Recovery location, we have doctors, therapists, and specialists available to individualize the treatment path for each patient. We believe that aligning the treatment plan with the needs and beliefs of each patient helps to reinforce long-term recovery and wellness. Our providers take pride in staying up to date on the latest research and innovations to help each patient recover and maximize physical and mental health.
We want to help each patient thrive. We provide comprehensive physical and mental evaluation to identify the roots of the issues. We then work with the patient to choose the best treatment to control pain, manage physical and mental co-occurring issues and optimize function and joyful living.

Biography
Nancy Beste has poured her heart and soul into building a treatment center that makes the patient and the patient’s family the center of the recovery process. She believes that gathering all the most innovative treatments for treating pain and substance abuse recovery in one clinic will provide choices to patients and providers to allow individualized treatment that will help each patient to recover and maximize function and joy in living. She has brought together the best caring therapists, doctors, and specialists to work as a team to help every patient recover.
Nancy Beste has specialized in addiction and pain medicine for over 15 years. She obtained a master’s degree in physician assistant from Nebraska School of Medicine in 2012, a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant from Idaho State University in 2000, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1985. She gained CAC II (certified addiction certification) in February 2018.
She evaluates injuries, treats chronic pain and substance abuse with traditional techniques while seamlessly integrating holistic care, physical conditioning, nutrition, and alternative therapies. She incorporates each patient’s functional needs and beliefs into treatment in order to develop a comprehensive care plan directed toward achieving each patient’ individual goals and needs.

Biography
Dr. Wright unifies the doctors, therapists, and specialists at Road to Recovery in an effort to provide comprehensive, safe, and respectful addiction care and pain management.
He explores medical research and introduces evidence-based innovative methods for the management of pain and recovery to the medical providers at Road to Recovery. He believes that recovery should be focused on the patient and should be individualized according to cultural, spiritual, and family beliefs as well as the medical status of the patient and the patient’s family.
Dr. Wright graduated from medical training at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine from 1974- 1979 and completed a residency in family medicine. He is board-certified in addiction medicine. He has practiced medicine for nearly forty years.
He is a renowned expert in addiction and pain medicine. He works as a practice consultant, a medico-legal expert, and a contracted speaker for multiple pharmaceutical companies.
He is a driving force in the Colorado Pain Society and the Colorado Society of Addiction Medicine. His goal is to improve the quality and availability of medical care for chronic pain and substance use disorders.
Katie Brydon, M.A.

Biography
Katie Brydon has dedicated her life to treating addiction, co-occurring disorders, and trauma.
She understands that there is not a one size fits all model when it comes to treatment and that truly individualized care is necessary for healing. Katie also understands that even though you may not always make the right choices, you are the expert of you; She prides herself in helping individuals understand themselves, their behaviors and compulsions as well as ways to better meet their needs.
Katie Brydon has gained experience working in the field over the last 15 years and has built a strong reputation in helping individuals to overcome their experiences.
She received her Master’s degree from the University of Denver in 2012, a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Metro State College of Denver in 2010, and her Equine Certificates including Equine Assisted EMDR in 2009- 2013.
Katie keeps herself well-informed on traditional as well as new best practices and effective treatment protocols to provide the most dynamic opportunity for you and your family to recover.
Ellie Titarenko

In this clinic I specialize in pain and addiction medicine.
For the last seven years I worked at University of Colorado Hospital at the Hematology/Oncology/BMT division where I treated patients’ with chronic pain. I completed an internship at CU pain and spine division and was managing chronic pain in patients living with sickle cell disease. In order to stay up to day in all aspects of family medicine, I share my time between this clinic and a family practice clinic in Aurora, CO.
Personally I strongly believe that my mission is not to heal but to empower my patients to heal themselves.
My professional interests include practicing holistic medicine, improving patients’ quality of life by effective communication, writing individualized and personalized treatment plans for chronic pain, and substance use disorder through up-to-date evidence based protocols and conservative methods. I believe in incorporating patients’ emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural beliefs into treatment for a productive outcome.
I obtained my bachelor of science degree at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA; my Master of Medical Science from Graceland University in Independence, MO.
I can fluently speak English, Ukrainian, Russian and Polish languages. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and my husband and two children. I also enjoy reading, hiking, watching a good Broadway Musical and traveling.
Ken Davis
Biography
A graduate of the University of Washington-Seattle – Northwest Community Health Leadership Institute 2008, University of Wisconsin-Madison Physician Assistant Program in 2000 and Nutritional Sciences Degree in 1994. Mr. Davis leverages over 20 years of comprehensive primary care, pain management, and substance use disorder care through patient collaborative experience.
Ken works closely with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston, towards continuous quality improvement processes, and served as an IHI coaching fellow for the IHI Leadership and Organizing for Change program. In 2014, he was recognized by the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved as Non-Physician Provider of the Year. As co-founder of the Yampa Valley Rx Task Force community coalition in 2016, and as Executive Director of the Health Partnership Serving Northwest CO in 2017, he gained expertise in regional community coalition building to address the epidemic of opioid abuse and addiction and led efforts that significantly reduced regional overdose-related deaths.
In 2018, he developed extensive knowledge of treating substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders with work at the Foundry residential treatment program as associate medical director. He served on the Colorado Medicine Assisted Therapy Advisory Committee, the Steering Committee for Mountain Plains Community Network, Routt County Grand Futures Board, and served on the board for Reach Out and Read Colorado.

Frances “Frani” Jenkins
I have been a Steamboat resident since 1973 when I arrived to teach high school physical education and coach. I received a master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina in 1984 and continue to hold a credential as a certified athletic trainer.
In 1995, I switched gears when I was accepted to the physician assistant program at the University of Utah. I have been a certified physician assistant in family practice since 1997 and have worked in different communities in northwest Colorado since 1999. I joined Mountain Medical Road to Recovery in June 2019.

Dana has been practicing in the field of substance use for 5 years. She is a Routt County Native but moved to the Front Range to Pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with a focus in Rehabilitation at the University of Northern Colorado Dana has been working as a Certification of Addiction Counselor I since 2015 in various levels of care such as detox, residential, and Intensive Outpatient in the Denver Metro area. She recently obtained her Certification of Addiction Counselor II in October 2019.

Lisa Winn has been a part of the Mountain Medical Road to recovery team going on two years now. She is the smiling face that welcomes all that enter the clinic, and the cheerful sweet voice answering the phone when any one calls. Lisa had started working with Nancy as just a lab tech through a tempt agency. But has moved her-self up at a fast rate to the title of Administrative assistant / MAT Expansion Financial Manager and that is because she genuinely cares about every single patient that comes through the doors. Lisa is devoted to her position at the clinic. From the moment you walk in you will feel welcome and safe
Lisa moved to Steamboat Springs, Co from Hampton, Sc.2 years ago she got her GED from Northwestern Community College in Craig and began working with Mountain Medical Road to Recovery She is a loving mom of 4 boys and enjoys spending her free time with her husband, kids, and animals doing the family thing.
Dallas Bailes

Dr. Dallas Bailes has been practicing emergency medicine for 12 years. He grew up in California and graduated from Loma Linda University before attending emergency medicine residency at Metropolitan hospital in New York City. After graduating, he was invited to stay on as associate professor where he completed a teaching fellowship.
Dr. Bailes has worked in every type of emergency medicine practice setting, from the county’s busiest level 1 trauma center, to disaster relief in Haiti, to Cruise ship physician, to solo coverage in rural critical access hospitals in Colorado. He has found his passion in the intimate setting of freestanding medicine where he can practice emergency medicine without the restrictions often placed on physicians by large impersonal hospital management. He is finishing his emergency medicine ultrasound fellowship in early 2018 and plans to sit for the American Society of Echocardiography boards later in the year.
When Dr. Bailes is not working, he enjoys snowboarding, backcountry exploring, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife, Mary, new son, Jack, and his dog, Beauford.
