Armed with a $30 million grant, the state is purchasing six mobile health units to extend is connected health network into communities struggling with opioid abuse.

Colorado is investing in mobile health units to combat the opioid abuse crisis.

State officials have announced they’re purchasing six vans from New York-based Medical Coaches for use as mHealth resources for treating people with substance abuse issues. The vans will be equipped with connected health tools that allow healthcare providers to deliver Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) therapy.

Colorado is using a $30 million State Opioid Response (SOR) grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to finance the program.
